Campo welcomes guests and invites them to stay from the moment they walk through the doors. From the personal touches – antique mirrors, old photos of Italian grandmothers and vintage soda bottles – to the rustic golden hue of the interior, warm wood bar and wood and marble tabletops, everything about Campo is comfortable, fun and convivial. Diners can tuck themselves away in a back corner on the upper level of the restaurant for a more intimate dining experience, or relax in the front room amidst the hustle and bustle of the bar scene to partake in a more social atmosphere. The front façade of the restaurant features floor-to-ceiling retractable windows allowing light to flood the room. And on warm days the windows open up and tables spill out onto the sidewalk inviting passerby's to stop and chat, or pull up a chair.
The restaurant is open for lunch, brunch, dinner and late night with menus featuring new interpretations of traditional Italian dishes. Try the Arancini, Egg Yolk Raviolo, Fried Green Tomato Caprese or Forest Mushroom Pappardelle, a few of Campo's most popular items, but be sure to leave room for the chef's signature Thin Crust Grilled Pizzas – a staple at almost every meal. Locally-sourced and all-natural ingredients are used whenever possible, and healthy alternatives such as whole wheat pasta are always available. In addition to the warm atmosphere and comforting cuisine, Campo is also a great place to enjoy a cocktail. The talented and friendly bartenders are at your service with afternoon and late night happy hours and an artfully-crafted menu offering both classic drinks and signature concoctions, including the aptly named Barnard and Julliard Daiquiri – the restaurant's homage to the neighborhood.
With a menu that's distinctly rustic and décor to match, the restaurant truly embodies its name, "A Gathering Place." So, leave the hustle and bustle behind and step into another world – the Italian countryside is calling. |
